The German Shepherd Dog Club of America

The GSDCO is one of 100+ regional member clubs of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America. This parent club with some 4000 members nationwide hosts a National Specialty Show annually whith competition in both conformation and performance events. Additionally the GSDCA National has educational seminars, temperament testing, and the club's annual membership meeting.

GSDCA members are eligible for a wide range of benefits and awards, not the least of which is the nationally award winning magazine THE GSD REVIEW.

The GSDCA also has

  • A National Futurity and Maturity system.
  • Educational Programs for all interested in the breed.
  • Formed a foundation to help fund research on health issues within the breed.
  • Formed a Rescue association to assist in finding permanent homes for GSDs needing rehoming
  • The Register of Merit system recognizes the top producing animals.
  • The Award of Excellence recognizes dogs who earn a SELECT rating at the National and have hip/elbow certification, temperament certification, and a training title - a truly outstanding list of accomplishments.
  • There are many other awards to recognize successes in many different venues.

    • Education and Breed Improvement are the primary goals of the GSDCA. If you are truly serious about being a guardian of this breed, membership is a must.
